Posted on August 16th, 2010 by adminIf your business requires you to travel a lot, you may find the task of packing and unpacking very tiring. Living out of a suitcase may not be much fun, but you can make the task easier. All it takes is a little time to learn how to pack light for your business travel.

The general rule of thumb is to pack as few clothes as possible. One pair of slacks or a skirt should go two days and you will need one shirt per day. All you need to do is make sure you have coordinating outfits and you will not need as many as you usually pack.
While you may be tempted just to pack the your normal toiletries, you can save space and weight by packing travel sized items. If they do not have your regular brands in the travel sizes, simply by small containers that you can fill with the items you need.
As most hotels and motels offer blow dryers and irons, do not waste the space in your luggage with these items. To be sure they are offered, call ahead of time to verify what you need and do not need to bring with you.
Sleeping in strange beds all the time can be rough on an individual. To make your sleep easier, be sure to pack an item from home that can help you sleep. While many want to pack their own pillow, this can quickly fill up your luggage. Instead, opt to bring a small throw with you or a comfortable robe.
These are just a few of the things you can do to pack lighter for your business travel. While it may seem tough to lighten up, by only taking a carryon with you, you have less chance of your luggage being lost. Your carryon will ensure you have everything you need for a successful business trip.
